Bio

Kierra Foster was born in Orlando, FL, but grew up primarily in the South Florida coastal city of West Palm Beach. In Jr. High, she was a starter on the woman's basketball team and she competed in the 200m, 100m, high jump, long jump and 4x100m as a member of the schools track team. She later joined the Roosevelt Express Track Club and competed nationally and internationally as a member of USATF.

Kierra attended Palm Beach Lakes High School where by her sophomore year she had become one of Florida's premier youth sprinters. During her senior season, she took home 5 medals during the Florida State High School finals,  4 individual event medals, and 1 for her 2nd leg run on the 4x100m relay squad. This success caught the attention of many college recruiters; including the coaches at the University of Maryland, College Park. In the fall of 2002, she enrolled at UMD on a full athletic scholarship.

As a Terp, the track star enjoyed a sensational career! She would be named All-America 3 times in the Long Jump. Kierra continues to hold multiple records at the University of Maryland, as well as the Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Long Jump record. She Graduated with a degree in Family Science.

Upon graduation, the highly decorated athlete took a brief hiatus from track and field to focus on a career in finance. But from the urging of friends, family, and former coaches, she returned to competition in the fall of 2009.

In 2009, Kierra teamed up with her mother, Anita, and together they founded Key Factor Sports Management, LLC. As well as competing in track and field, Kierra works in the areas of fitness and nutrition helping individuals to reach their own health objectives. She and her mother also head up a non-profit organization geared towards promoting healthy life choices and physical activity amongst youths in West Palm Beach, FL.

Kierra currently resides in San Diego, Ca. where she trains full-time at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista and is coached by Olympic Gold Medalist Al Joyner.
